Parts covered by SILCA Limited Warranty are considered to be subject to wear through normal use or are consumable subject to degradation through the course of their daily use. SILCA guarantees them free from manufacturer defects for 2 years.
SpeedChip. SpeedChip is the go to when you need the absolute fastest option available. It is the choice of Visma Lease-a-Bike for time trials and one day classics. SpeedChip is a full synthetic wax produced from the same exotic base oils used in SILCA Synergetic. This is the absolute fastest wax ever used in a cycling lubricant, blended with 3 sizes of sub-micron and nanoscale Tungsten Disulfide platelets for further reduced friction and anti-wear properties. Proven in testing to permanent increase chain efficiency by up to 0.6% over SILCA SecretBlend hot melt, with the only downside being more frequent lubrication intervals required (see chart for more details).
EnduranceChip. EnduranceChip is the best option for ultra-endurance events or training chains to get the most longevity out of your components. EnduranceChip is a semi-synthetic wax blend boasting some of the longest molecular chain lengths possible in a wax for ultimate durability. Adding EnduranceChip to SecretBlend can permanent increase the distance between re-waxing by as much as 2.5X (up to 750km) while still being as fast as the top wet lubricants and significantly faster than any dry lubricant. Add a second chip for even further single application longevity.
One of the secrets behind Secret Chain Blend is that it's a mix of 4 unique types of wax and not just Paraffin like most other hot wax products. This blend of waxes along with our proprietary WS2 has kept the Secret Chain Blend on top of the ZeroFrictionCycling charts for the last 3 years with many competitors reformulating to get close, but none of them able to beat it.
The 4 wax mix has allowed SILCA to blend what we felt was the best overall mix of high performance, dirt resistance, and application longevity, but over the years as we've worked with professional gravel athletes, WorldTour teams, Olympic medalists and more, the request has come up over and over again to custom formulate waxes for specific events or situations. Rather than make an endless number of custom blends, early in 2024 we started shipping two different wax additive kits to our athletes and teams for testing new formulations based on their events and experiences.
The challenge in formulating waxes is that the fastest, most exotic waxes, tend not to last as long per application, while the most durable, longest lasting waxes tend not to be as fast. Rather than blending new and custom formulations for each event, we gave the power to formulate to the athletes, and the results they came back to us with have been incredible with more than 100 victories in WorldTour, Lifetime Grand Prix, the Olympics and many more!
This new system puts the optimization process in the hands of the athlete. Want a training wax that lasts 600km between waxings, you've got it. Want a race wax that's won multiple Tour de France stages, you've got it. Want the most insane TT wax for your 40km TT, you've got it.
