    SILCA Super Secret Chain Lube is perfect for topping up a hot waxed chain or dipping your toe in chain waxing.  It repels dirt, is more efficient, and prolongs your drivetrain life significantly longer than the traditional oil based alternatives.  If you are looking to complete the only chain waxing system on the market today, Super Secret Chain Lube is the only drip wax with an identical hot wax counterpart.

    SILCA Super Secret Chain lube started out as a project to develop the fastest Hot-Melt wax lubricant available more than a year ago.  Josh has been recommending Hot Melt Wax and helping Pro cyclists and triathletes wax chains for years and wanted to bring his lubricant formula to our customers, the challenge was how to consistently melt, dip and agitate the chain across different crockpot designs and temperatures.  The project took a fascinating turn from the world of IndyCar when josh was introduced to a group that had developed a technology to put micro-scale wax powders into a solution that was quick drying and forms a coating that is indiscernible from hot melt dipping. The combination of air-drying liquid wax and Tungsten Disulfide would quickly prove to beat all currently available hot melt waxes in friction testing while being much faster and easier to apply.

    Wax lubricant is the best option in most scenarios but Wet Lube is significantly better in all conditions compared to dry lube

    How to correctly apply Super Secret Chain Lube?

    Cross chain as much as possible and apply one drop per link while rotating the chain backwards on a clean/dry chain.  The same application can be done to a previously waxed chain.

    Please note: Field tests have determined that prolonged exposure to below-freezing temperatures, can cause viscosity breakdown to the Super Secret Chain Lube. The coating will become quite thick. It is OK to apply to the chain as the functionality is still viable. In extreme cases, it may be necessary to clear the cap with a needle.

      How often should I apply Super Secret Drip Lube?

      Super Secret Chain Lube should be reapplied every 200 miles or when the chain becomes noisy.

      Can Super Secret Drip Lube be applied on my Hot Waxed chain?

      Yes, you can apply Super Secret Drip Lube to your Hot Waxed chain to extend the life of your Hot Wax. We recommend that this is applied every 200 miles for the best results. When this is applied consistently, it can double the life of your Hot Wax. This can also be applied after a wet ride to help flush out any remaining water between the links of your chain and help to prevent rusting.

      Can Super Secret Drip Lube be used on its own?

      Yes, Super Secret can be used on its own and not in combination with Hot Wax. This will give you similar results to Hot Wax. When using this product on its own, we do recommend laying it for the best results. This would mean adding three applications in succession after each dries.

      Do I need to strip and clean my chain before applying Super Secret Drip Lube?

      Yes, you will want to ensure that your chain is cleaned and stripped with Chain Stripper before applying this Super Secret Drip Lube.

      How do I apply Super Secret Drip Lube?

      You will want to apply Super Secret Chain Lube the same as you would a standard oil based lubricant. One drop per link. Unlike an oil based lubricant, you will not want to wipe the excess of of your chain.

      How long do I have to allow Super Secret Drip Lube to dry on my chain.

      You will want to ensure that this Super Secret Drip Lube has thoroughly dried on your chain before riding. We recommend allowing this to dry for atleast 12 hours for the best results.

      What do I do if my Super Secret Chain Lube has frozen?

      We recommend that Super Secret Drip Lube is stored between 41 - 86 °F / 5-30 °C to prevent this product from changing textures. If this product does freeze, you can try to re-emulsify the lubricant. You will want to drop a small nut or bolt into your bottle, replace the cap, and then place it in a warm water bath. Then shak it vigorously.

      How do I clean and maintain my chain when using Super Secret Drip Lube?

      To clean your chain when just using super secret, you'll want to wipe it down with a microfiber cloth every 150-200 miles, then every 1000 miles, pour hot water over the top to remove any remaining wax and re-apply super secret.
