Compared to standard butyl rubber bicycle inner tubes, latex tubes are considerably more elastic (10x elongation compared to 2-3x). More importantly, Latex Rubber has significantly lower coefficient of damping which means that when latex rubber is stretched or flexed, it returns to shape faster and with less energy loss.

What does this mean for an inner tube?  Latex inner tubes are generally 2-5 Watts (per tire) more efficient at 30mph than tubes made of other materials. They are harder to pinch-flat and offer superior ride quality, especially when combined with supple, low rolling resistance tires. This tube has been sized to fit tires measuring 24-30mm, which will equate to 23-28mm tires used on modern wider rims.  Valve stem length is 42mm and will work in all modern disc wheels.

    Game changer

I was ordering hot melt and out of curiosity decided to try latex (overwhelmingly positive comments tipped the scale). Had expectations of some kind of improvement, but the difference really was astonishing. On rough surfaces it was nice and got rid of my wrist pain in couple rides (I was struggling with it for months, not really "see a physio asap" but irritating). The most amazing observation is that a new tarmac is noticably smoother than on butyl tubes. Plush ride quality got me to ride more and more, I feel much more joy in how the bike interacts with the ground, better grip in corners. I know I'm geekin out a bit, it's not that you get a new bike with it but... It kind of feels like it. GP5000/25mm, around 80psi, bike+me87kg. Gravel on couple of rides, no flats so far.

Went in pretty easy even with tire levers

Ok, so like i knew they would be a little quicker but I didn't expect to actually feel a difference from the first pedal stroke.

    Are they worth the cost?

They sure are. Such a nice, smooth ride compared to butyl. Well worth the money.

    Noticeable difference

First latex tube I’ve ever used. Definite difference in suppleness over a normal tube. Highly recommended!
