WHY At SILCA, one of our strongest beliefs is in the protection in your investment and more importantly, in the protection of yourself. Bar Tape should be replaced at least every year for the best performance and for safety checks of corrosion on aluminum bars or damage to carbon bars. We want to make sure that you are covered by providing the first crash replacement program for bar tape.
Inspired by advancements in running shoe foam and F1 tires as well as our own research into rolling efficiency, impedance and damping, we realized that new materials technology could allow for a significant improvement in bar tape. Using a laminate of SILCAthane, SILCAlon and 3M Visco-elastic adhesive instead of a single foam extrusion, the tape can be optimized across a range of desired features. The resulting tape has a softer, more comfortable feel, higher wet and dry grip, better vibration isolation, and 3-5x the durability of existing tape materials. Since the actual wrap of the tape can be as important as the tape itself, we’ve also developed a full adhesive-backed ‘butterfly’ to better cover the back of the lever clamp area without adding bulk, a high grip finishing tape and expanding aluminum/composite end plugs to ensure every detail is perfect.
After getting numb hands with other bar tapes for years, I decided to switch to the Nastro Cuscino bar tape. Following the instructions in the Silca how-to video closely, wrapping was straight-forward and I'm happy with the result. It looks good, has a secure grip in dry and wet conditions, and I think that it is the most comfortable bar tape I've used so far. So all in all it sure is expensive but worth it.

Cons: pricey!
This bar tape is exactly what a high end bar tape should be. I haven't wrapped many bar tapes so far but I hadn't problems with the nastro cuscino. I did it like josh showed it in one of his videos on YouTube and it worked. Yes it is expensive but after three years mine is still good, even after I had to rewrapped it. Grip and feeling are still superior. If you don't want to pay 60€ for that, wait for a sale or use other discounts. There are some options time by time, like i did it for 40€ with coupons;)
