Frame pumps are highly underrated. IMPERO ULTIMATE II features a unique 2-stage head gasket to provide ultimate sealing and holding even when compared to lever chuck designs. Machined aluminum head with brass check valve ensures a lifetime of flawless use. Full aluminum barrel, handle and piston rod result in a pump that is competitive in weight with plastic designs while being significantly stronger, smoother and more durable.
Unique FlexWing Silicone bumpers on the head and handle tip are designed to accommodate tubing diameters from 1" (25mm) to 2.5" (64mm). An additional Silicone bumper on the main barrel protects paint, eliminates vibrations and noise, and also acts as a compression lock against the handle to keep it from moving until you use the pump.
Version two has an adjustable fit to fine tune the length for additional security for all top tube lengths.
The Impero Ultimate II frame pump (in medium) rides very quietly on my Moots Vamoots road bike. I took the time to practice airing up a front wheel that I deflated just for the practice. The pump inflated my front wheel just fine. Some care has to be taken to ensure the pump is properly seated on the valve stem.
The pump is very well made and should provide me many years of service.
If you wish to buy one for your bike take care in choosing the correct size. You need to carefully measure the storage location.

Imagine walking into a neighborhood one-car garage that was a nationally renowned bike shop. Founded and operated by Spence and Lillian Wolf, The Cupertino Bike Shop was the direct importer of Cinelli, Singer and Hetchins frames. Through the years, only a handful of individuals had the honor or working in that shop as a mechanic: I was one of the few (1968 - 1975). A Spence-built racing or touring wheel was a prized possession. Spence taught me how to build bicycle wheels.
And 99% of the time, wheels on bikes in the shop were fitted out with Clement sew-ups that held air as well as I hold liquor. Whether the bikes were on the shop floor or hanging on hooks, all of those tires had to be pumped back up to riding pressure. That was my first task each morning. Yes, we practically need Mr. Peabody's Instant Wayback Machine to relive those wonderful moments 55 years ago.
Taking my new Impero pump in-hand, just a few days ago, put a big smile on my face. Running parallel with the dark green Waterford downtube, it snapped right into place. So much better - for me, than some mini-mini pump or C02 cartridge. As you can see, Impero pumps and I have quite a history. Do the math...1,200 strokes with an Impero pump - one week after another...one year after another.
