Heat is the enemy of mini-pumps. More strokes generates more friction which produces more heat and heat is wasted energy.  Unlike most mini-pumps, POCKET IMPERO does not suffer from efficiency loss when hot.  POCKET IMPERO is between a high pressure and high volume pump. At 200 strokes the POCKET IMPERO reaches higher pressures than any other pocketable pump ever tested in the BikeRadar test protocol, meaning that it is pushing more air with fewer losses than pumps of either high pressure, or high volume designs. The unique Slide-Lock Silicone sleeve improves grip and doubles as a handle lock when in your pocket.

Nice and compact, it fits easily in my jersey pocket and doesn’t threaten to jump out. No gauge and in a 25 mm tire, 200 pumps is not anywhere near enough PSI for reliable inflation. So be prepared to take a break once or twice to get the tire up to pressure. That seems like the major trade off for portability and size. The other reviews criticizing the weight seem unreasonable to me. My food scale weighed it at 5.3 oz, the same weight as 4 scoops of infinit endurance powder (2 water bottles worth) or roughly 2 large mouthfuls if water. Overall satisfied with it and if it lasts like other Silca products have a reputation of lasting, then worth the premium price charged. We will see...

    I like this.

Obvious quality material and design, great customer service and I expect it to last. Worked great inflating a 700x40c to 65+psi, I took a break at ~40psi.. hold these with one finger behind the pump head and valve- just like that the sleeve stops slipping, duh... So why is it worth $125, grasshopper? It gets hot, does not lose pressure, nothing wears or fails! Solid investment. Terske ultralite pump mounts at Lindarets...

    Impero platform in pocket size.

My 1973 SILCA was hands-down the best frame pump available at the time...it still works fine. The new Impero is a fully realized high quality tool. Josh Poertner's intuitive design, U.S.A. Made, small enough for your pocket. Brings your air pump to same quality & reliability level as the rest of your nice bike.
