Heat is the enemy of mini-pumps. More strokes generates more friction which produces more heat and heat is wasted energy. Unlike most mini-pumps, POCKET IMPERO does not suffer from efficiency loss when hot. POCKET IMPERO is between a high pressure and high volume pump. At 200 strokes the POCKET IMPERO reaches higher pressures than any other pocketable pump ever tested in the BikeRadar test protocol, meaning that it is pushing more air with fewer losses than pumps of either high pressure, or high volume designs. The unique Slide-Lock Silicone sleeve improves grip and doubles as a handle lock when in your pocket.
The Pocket Impero is ready to use when removed from the package. If you would like to learn more about features, functions and maintenance of the Pocket Impero, please visit the SILCA resource center.
Obvious quality material and design, great customer service and I expect it to last. Worked great inflating a 700x40c to 65+psi, I took a break at ~40psi.. hold these with one finger behind the pump head and valve- just like that the sleeve stops slipping, duh... So why is it worth $125, grasshopper? It gets hot, does not lose pressure, nothing wears or fails! Solid investment. Terske ultralite pump mounts at Lindarets...
My 1973 SILCA was hands-down the best frame pump available at the time...it still works fine. The new Impero is a fully realized high quality tool. Josh Poertner's intuitive design, U.S.A. Made, small enough for your pocket. Brings your air pump to same quality & reliability level as the rest of your nice bike.
Perfect size, beautifully made, had to buy an American made waterproof carrying bag it's so nice
I can’t speak on behalf of how the pump works as I purchased it as a gift. That said, the build quality felt very nice and the order was processed and shipped promptly.
