WHY At SILCA, one of our strongest beliefs is in the protection in your investment and more importantly, in the protection of yourself. Bar Tape should be replaced at least every year for the best performance and for safety checks of corrosion on aluminum bars or damage to carbon bars. We want to make sure that you are covered by providing the first crash replacement program for bar tape.
Inspired by advancements in running shoe foam and F1 tires as well as our own research into rolling efficiency, impedance and damping, we realized that new materials technology could allow for a significant improvement in bar tape. Using a laminate of SILCAthane, SILCAlon and 3M Visco-elastic adhesive instead of a single foam extrusion, the tape can be optimized across a range of desired features. The resulting tape has a softer, more comfortable feel, higher wet and dry grip, better vibration isolation, and 3-5x the durability of existing tape materials. Since the actual wrap of the tape can be as important as the tape itself, we’ve also developed a full adhesive-backed ‘butterfly’ to better cover the back of the lever clamp area without adding bulk, a high grip finishing tape and expanding aluminum/composite end plugs to ensure every detail is perfect.

Awesome bar tape!
This is the first time I've installed bar tape myself, and I was worried about the results since some people have claimed that Nastro tape is hard to wrap without wrinkles. I found it very easy to work with, following Josh's video instructions which emphasize the importance of pulling HARD on the tape since it doesn't stretch easily. As you can see in the picture, the project turned out great . Not only do I love the looks of the tape (this is my daughter's bike, she selected the color) but it also has a great feel and provides plenty of cushion.

So comfort!!
Comfort as it advertises.!! And very good grip even my hand sweat. One thing to comment that it is a bit too short when roll out onto my 40cm handle bar. I have to stress it quite hard to get it wrap to the end (see picture)
