In our quest to create the ultimate bottle cage, we found ourselves completely fascinated by the look, feel, and durability of tubular titanium construction. This combination of design characteristics produces a cage that has better retention on gravel and other harsh surfaces and has proven to be the superior design when mounted on the underside of the down tube, so common in adventure riding and touring. While classic in appearance, this material, and its manufacturing is as complex and high tech as it gets.
The cages are lovely and incredibly light, and I've had no trouble with bottles going in, coming out, and staying in the cages when I want. However, Silca seems to no longer include the bolts to attach these to the frame, and the stock bolts on my bike are slightly too tall for these cages. This means that the bolts visibly scrap my bottle every time it goes into or out of the cage. It is an annoying issue for this price point and is exactly the kind of small detail that I expect to *not* have to deal with when I get a Silca product.
Love the look and compatibility with my Litespeed Ultimate. Unbelievably light weight but stronger than steel. Pricey but if you can afford a new Titanium bike the cost of these is insignificant.
Ok so I bought these to go with my titanium gravel bike. Chuegy? Maybe so, but they turned out to hold my bottles much better than the alloy ones I had on there before.
